Rarely does world class amateur golf meet up with a world class vacation destination, but that is certainly the case with the South Beach International Amateur. Golf’s amateur stars will join many of the world’s most famous celebrities in December who make Miami Beach their permanent or winter home.
The finest beaches, warm ocean, world famous night life and hotel room rates that would never be extended to the general public will encourage many family members to come along for this tournament. And they may even watch some golf!
Miami Beach Golf Club and Normandy Shores Golf Club are historic championship golf courses that have proven to be a great test of golf for the world's best amateurs over the last 11 South Beach International Championships. Famed golf course architect Arthur Hills brought back to life the classic nature of each course while increasing the challenge through modern design tactics.
Both courses play to 6,800 yards and each course will have one par 5 which will be changed to a par 4, making Normandy Shores a par 70 and Miami Beach a par 71 for tournament purposes.
